Commission irresponsibility? The commission did not work together to list negotiation points for staff and our attorneys. They also failed to analyze the future costs and revenues before beginning negotiations.

Bad Deal - The agreement requires us to change our recreational beach zoning, to allow more commercial use. Currently, the developer could “flip” the lease, so we don't know who will be running our beach. The current deal won't cover the cost of our lifeguards; the city stands to lose millions over 20 years.

How long? With zoning changes, potential lawsuits and a voter referendum, this lease could take years to get signed.
Playground for the rich, or a park for everyone? The planned casino building is about three times bigger than the existing one. National chains are planned. Strong possibility of losing icon John G's. The new design is from the developer, with input from a select few.
